Madhulaya is a lived-in home reimagined—a quiet transformation for a young couple and their toddler, who had already spent four years within its walls before choosing to design it with intention. What they sought wasn't grandeur, but clarity: surfaces that were easy to maintain, storage that embraced their everyday chaos, and spaces that would evolve with them.

The design takes subtle cues from the ornate geometry of Rani-ki-Vav, grounding the space in cultural memory while embracing a clean, modern aesthetic. Each room holds its own: the rich red living area adapts from lounge to hosting space with layered lighting; the master bedroom, in deep blue, is a cocoon of calm; their daughter's purple nook is playful yet serene.

Walls once dividing the home were removed to bring in light, volume, and smarter storage. Little details—the chalkboard wall, a study ledge for travel trinkets, a nook for the matla—weave in stories of daily life. A foldable mattress, replacing the conventional bed, reflects a thoughtful shift toward safety and softness. What emerges is a home of quiet luxuries—deeply personal, deeply usable, and ready to embrace the decade ahead.
